Message from the President & CEO

Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama
The President & CEO

26, June 2020

Since opening its doors in 1991, PACIFICO Yokohama has been one of the largest and most popular international conference venues in Japan. With the new corporate philosophy outlined in 2019, PACIFICO Yokohama offers safe, comfortable, and high-quality facilities and services. Also based on the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the UN Summit, we focus on environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable operations while striving to become the only one and No. 1 MICE facility in Asia.

The environment surrounding MICE is changing dramatically as facilities are competing more intensely and there is a trend to establish integrated resorts (IR). In such circumstances, PACIFICO Yokohama North opened on April 24, 2020. With one of Japan's largest multi-purpose halls spanning 6,300m2 and 42 large/medium/small meeting rooms, the new facility allows us to further meet the demand of domestic and international conferences as well as business incentive events organized along with large parties with several thousands of attendees. With the new and existing facilities, we create new value and contribute to strengthening MICE functions in Yokohama.

As the world faces an unprecedented threat of COVID-19, the MICE industry is in a major crisis. PACIFICO Yokohama has three strengths: ALL IN ONE facility bringing together MICE functions including conference, exhibition, and accommodation; geographic advantage with excellent views, great access, tourism, and accommodation; and rich knowhow and experience in supporting many important international conferences. As a facility that supports "space" for interaction of people, and based on our belief that exploring new forms of MICE is the key to ensuring business continuity, we will pursue innovation for generating new value.

In 2021, we are celebrating our milestone, the 30th anniversary. Further bringing out the best of our community, we will help this place thrive as a unique center for conventions in the Asia Pacific region.

We look forward to the continued support and guidance of our clients and stakeholders.
