[ PACIFICO Yokohama × Kirin Beverage Joint Project ] Installed a “Special Beauty Japan” Support Vending Machine, the first of its kind in a public area in Japan

Supporting a beauty contest where young people with Down syndrome, autism, and intellectual disabilities can shine

PACIFICO Yokohama, one of the largest MICE complexes in Japan, in collaboration with Kirin Beverage Co., Ltd. (location: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hideki Horiguchi), installed a drink vending machine on June 27th, 2019 to support the “Special Beauty Japan” beauty contest for young people with Down syndrome, autism, and intellectual disabilities. This vending machine is the first of its kind in a public area in Japan and is located in PACIFICO Yokohama’s outdoor Plaza area, with all proceeds being donated to the above project.

Special Beauty Japan” is a beauty contest designed to offer a stage where young people with Down syndrome, autism, and intellectual disabilities can shine, and it has been hosted by the Minorities Exchange Association since 2018. When Kirin Beverage decided to launch a vending machine project to support the activities of “Special Beauty Japan,” PACIFICO Yokohama fully endorsed its goals and went ahead to install a vending machine in an area that many people visit for special events, donating all proceeds from the sale of drinks.

As a member of the local community, PACIFICO Yokohama has always pursued a diverse range of activities aimed at realizing a sustainable society, such as planning and holding CSR events, and initiatives with consideration for environmental preservation. Through our participation in this project, we are renewing our efforts to support socially vulnerable people, and we will continue to make a contribution to society as a MICE facility that respects each person’s rights and individuality and supports a bright future for young people.
