Full-fledged launch of “Noge Hospitality Evening,”a “Bar-hopping Experience” event for MICE participants
- Unique Venue Program to promote the local night-time economy -

PACIFICO Yokohama one of the largest MICE complexes in Japan, planned and hosted “Noge Hospitality Evening,” a “Bar-hopping Experience” event held over two days on July 29-30th, 2019 as a Unique Venue Program aimed at international conference participants.

Noge Hospitality Evening” was held as an official event of the “the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society and the IGARSS 2019 (IGARSS 2019),” an international conference held at PACIFICO Yokohama and attracted by Yokohama City and Yokohama Convention & Visitors Bureau. Following an operational test in June of last year, this was the first time to make practical use of the program. About 120 participants from overseas visited 16 Japanese-style pubs/bars (izakaya) in the traditional Showa-era atmosphere of “Noge Area,” a popular eating and drinking area within walking distance from PACIFICO Yokohama, and there they experienced the unique Japanese culture of “bar-hopping.”

Looking ahead, we will continue in our efforts to discover new Unique Venues to help promote night-time economic activities and transfer MICE participants as customers, communicating the great appeal of Yokohama and contributing to the local area as a driving force for economic development.
