PACIFICO Yokohama celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 29th.
We are deeply grateful for the patronage and support we have received from our many customers and related parties since we opened our doors in 1991. Since our debut at the forefront of Yokohama's Minato Mirai 21 district, together with the development of the city, we have welcomed approximately 27,000 events and 87 million visitors.
In April 2020, we opened the new PACIFICO Yokohama North, but with the entire world facing an unprecedented threat from an infectious virus, the MICE industry is also being faced with a very critical situation. In addition to fulfilling our unchanging role as a “facility that supports Communications among People," which we have placed great value on up to now, we also regard a new form of MICE that takes on this challenge as the key to corporate sustainability and are striving for innovation that can create new value.
In addition, in the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the United Nations Summit, we are conscious of sustainable management that considers the environment, society, and the economy, and we are working to become "Asia's Only 1, No. 1 MICE facility. We will also contribute to the further development of the region as the most unique convention venue in the Asia - Pacific region by leveraging the appeal of the region.
We sincerely wish to express our appreciation for the continued and further guidance and support of our customers and other stakeholders.

The Story of the 30th Anniversary Logo
Asuka Koyama is a designer based in Yokohama.
She proposed a logo to commemorate the 30th anniversary of PACIFICO Yokohama, taking inspiration from PACIFICO Yokohama`s brand logo, a shape of three people standing shoulder to shoulder, symbolizing “the ocean” and “green,” as well as “the seven seas,” and “the five continents.”
Please enjoy the new sensation of the world that expresses the past 30 years and the future of PACIFICO Yokohama.

The Tale of Three Navigators
Thirty years ago,
in the still empty “Minato Mirai 21 district,” a convention facility was born, inheriting the history of the port city of Yokohama.
Three navigators decide to turn the facility into a forum for “communications” with the world, where wisdom and imagination could come together.
Their decision was to
expand communication between Japan, the world, and the entire globe. The Minato Mirai 21 district, Japan, and Yokohama have played an important role in fostering the development of the city.
In 30 years, the Minato Mirai 21 district has become renowned across seven oceans and five continents, and has become one of Japan's leading international convention facilities.
Now, 30 years later,
faced with an unexpected and unprecedented situation, we were forced to stop the “flow of people.” However, the “spirit” of determination taught us just how important “communications” was for people. With our sights on the future, we will join hands in a circle with the world.
